HOW TO USE SNUG AND REMEMBER TO CHECK INWhy not just call your buddy or relative instead? Many of the people who live alone are not elderly or even home bound, in fact, they are on the go all the time. I have a relative that is three hours difference in time, and if I call him at 9:00AM my time, it's 6:00AM his time. Also, he is always on the go, and if I wait until 12:00 noon, he may of already left to go play golf or pickle ball. This causes me concern if I don't hear from him each day, notice I didn't say worry. Worry is much different than concern. Worry causes anxiety, and Jesus said, "Can any one of you by worrying add a single hour to your life?" (Matthew 6:27) Concern is proactive, if you have a problem find a solution, and SNUG was my solution.
INSTALL SNUG AND CONFIGURE SNUGTo set up SNUG on your smart phone only requires a few simple steps. If you have an iPhone you will go to the iPhone App Store and search for Snug Safety, then just click install. If you have an Android phone go to the Play Store and install the app. Next, open the app on your phone and provide some very basic information, your name, your cell phone number, your address, and your email address. Don't worry, SNUG doesn't sell your information or send you advertisements. It will ask you if you want to set the location too. You can decline; however, this is an important feature. If you miss a call-in it will let your SNUG Buddy know your last known location if you fail to check in. The app will then ask you to set a check-in time and if you change your mind, you change it easily as many times as you wish. It also has a vacation feature that you can select days you might be visiting a relative or friend so you won't check in. Remember SNUG is free! For our church members I will set a time and when you bring your phones I will help you set up your SNUG. There is also a paid service that I would select for a friend or relative especially if they live some distance away from me, and they have some serious health issues. The Dispatch Plan allows up to three check-in's per day. Dispatch Plan ($9.99/mo or $99.99/yr): On the paid version of Snug, if you miss your check-in time, a Snug dispatcher will call your cell phone to ask if you're alright. If you do not answer, they will call your emergency contacts to ask someone to check in on you. If the dispatcher is unable to get confirmation that someone will look in on you, they will request a wellness check. This is where a local authority such as the police, fire department or emergency medical services visit your last known location or home address.
Everyone has a daily habit when they first wake up, I take my morning medication, well, I used to, now I just push the big green check mark in SNUG. I also put a reminder tag before I even take my medication. When you join the SNUG Club I have a tag for you. See the image below: (NOTE: My medications are behind the badge)

![]() I click the app and see the very big green circle with the check-in mark. See picture below.
![]() After a few seconds the app gives me the following screen. I am all checked in! See picture below:
![]() NOTE: This is important! My check in time is set for 9:00AM; however, I get up between 5:00AM and 6:00AM. I can check in anytime before my set check in time. Once in a while I have slept in, so to keep missing a check in, I made it later, but I can always check in early. What if my cell phone is lost or broken? Don't be concerned, you can also use any phone and call this number, 844-243-9110 it will ask you to put in your cell phone number and you are checked in.
